Bangor Paint Out & Auction Painting a Pathway to the Bog August 16, 2014 The Bangor Art Society invites artists of all ages and skill levels to participate in the Bangor Paint Out on Saturday, August 16, 2014. We are raising funds for the Orono Bog Boardwalk to help replace the Boardwalk. Proceeds from the sale of art will be distributed as follows: 25% to the Orono Bog Boardwalk; 25% to Bangor Art Society; 50% to the artist. Artists may choose to contribute more to the Boardwalk or the Art Society. www.oronobogboardwalk.org Registration and Auction Information: Pre-registration, until August 12, may be completed by filling out the attached registration form and mailing it to: Bangor Art Society, P.O.Box 2411, Bangor, ME 04402-2411. Registration for Bangor Art Society members and youth is free. All others pay a $25 entrance fee, due on the day of the paint out. The entrance fee may be applied to the cost of membership in the Bangor Art Society. All artists must register outside the Gracie Theater at Husson University between 6:30 and 10:00 A.M. The canvas/paper/panel will be stamped before you head out to paint. . Artists may work in any drawing, painting, or wood cut medium. Art is due back at Gracie Theater, Husson University by 3:00 PM. Art should be matted and/or framed and ready for display. No sawtooth hangers please. Artists may paint anywhere in the Greater Bangor Area. The evening reception and auction is from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Auction preview at 5:30. Judges will jury in top paintings for the live auction. All others will be in the silent auction. There will be a separate silent auction for young people (through high school age). All paintings will be judged for cash prizes. Winners will be announced during the live auction. Prizes for adults: First place: $200, Second place: $100; third place: $50; Youth awards: $50/$30/$20; Best in show: $250 Your registration includes a ticket to the evening reception and auction.
